I'm estimating the horn is from the 1950s and looks the same as the Holton 65/69 trombones from this period. Here I’ll give you some suggestions on how to record brass players, whether you are recording soloists or several players at once. These two contrabass trombones were made by Boosey-Hawkes, and are known as the "King Kong" models. Although the EW Play engine can be demanding on resources because the complexity and depth of this library pushes technology to the edge, the current version runs much more smoothly than in the past.

I could have had these braces replaced with new ones... but you know what, that's what makes this horn what it is... something special and unique with lots of character. The slide has been widened to accommodate the Thayer valves and larger necks. Big burly sound, lots of core and a unique blow. The 12H was very popular and lots of them were made, however, most were made in the late 1950s and had the "marching men" engraving on them� marketed more towards the band clients. The combination of the gold brass bell and lightweight nickel slide gives a balanced tone with good weight and crisp articulations. Anecdotally, wind instrument musicians have reported a greater lung capacity and even improved asthma because of their musical hobbies. Very similar to a Conn 78H but is not stamped as such. Used boiling water to remove the lacquer and now they have the natural patina I was looking for. Each position progressively increases the length of the air column, thus lowering the pitch. A good fff is possible throughout almost the entire range, although the lowest few notes tend to be weaker.
