Recently overhauled and relacquered here at The Brass Ark, it is looking shiny and spiffy. The back bow is red brass and most of the larger tubes appear to be from thin brass with seams. This instrument has an "H" series serial number, dating it's manufacture date to 1966. Rounded edges around the lip of the cup allow air to escape out of the bell. During the 20th century some soprano trombones—dubbed slide cornets—were made as novelties or for use by jazz cornet players, but the instrument has never been widely used.
